By creating training material, training concepts, and a model for dissemination and training services in a form that fits the industry’s needs we make sure that the project results get well-known within the German industry. By using modern teaching media, we ensure that our dissemination efforts are as powerful as possible. Moreover, we will establish long-lasting concepts for services that allow businesses, especially SME, to create new business models in areas such as consulting, or as a supplier of relevant trainings. Material and concepts that have been developed in previous projects will be immediately tested in industrial projects as part of SPEDiT. As far as the development of embedded systems and embedded software is concerned, SPEDiT aims at improving the state of the art in key markets of the German industry in a sustainable manner. The University of Duisburg-Essen heads work package 1 (‘Development of Teaching Material’) and contributes substantially to two pilot studies (work package 6) and work package 5 on dissemination strategies. University Duisburg-Essen’s share of the project is funded with .7 million Euro by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
